Safety Beach Medical and Wellness Practice is an independent family medical facility providing consulting rooms to general practitioners, allied health and specialist services. The general practitioners have completed specialist training in general practice and are members of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). The General Practitioners at Safety Beach Medical and Wellness are Independent Medical Practitioners who run their own medical practices from the clinic.

Dr Rob Jeffs

Rob and his wife Sarah, our the founding GPs at Safety Beach Medical and Wellness Practice.  They settled locally with their two boys, having moved from the UK in 2013.  They fell in love with the lifestyle and professional opportunities Australia has to offer, in particular the Mornington Peninsula.

Rob was formally the Clinical Director and a GP for a clinic in Rosebud, before he and Sarah saw an opportunity to open their own practice in Safety Beach.

Rob has over 15 years experience in medicine:

  • GP Partner in a UK practice
  • NHS surgical training (UK)
  • NHS Emergency Registrar

Rob’s speciality areas include Orthopaedics, Sports Injuries, Diabetes, Chronic Illness, Men’s Health and Mental Health.

Rob believes that through empathy, committed support and education this can help empower patients to achieve their own health goals.

When Rob isn’t at work he will be with family and friends. He enjoys attending sporting events with his boys and is a keen athlete himself competing in triathlons and Ironman events.  He loves listening to music and he values his time in the garden.

Dr Sarah Jeffs

Sarah and her husband Rob, our the founding GPs at Safety Beach Medical and Wellness Practice.  They settled locally with their two boys, having moved from the UK in 2013.  They fell in love with the lifestyle and professional opportunities Australia has to offer, in particular the Mornington Peninsula.

Following 10 years training and working in the UK, Sarah has been a local GP for the last 7 years and feels a deep connection with and responsibility to the local community.

Sarah enjoys all aspects of General practice. Her specialist areas include women’s health. Sarah is an accredited antenatal shared-care provider, she also provides contraception options, pregnancy advisory service and menopause therapy.

She enjoys seeing patients of all ages, families, individuals, LGBTQI, transgender…. everyone is welcome.

Sarah attends regular teaching events and stays up to date with local guidelines. She provides excellent clinical care in a non-judgmental and accessible way for all.

Outside of work Sarah enjoys family time and watching her son’s sporting activities. She also loves meeting friends, walks in Redhill, running on the foreshore, pilates and long brunches.

Dr Jo Pollott

Jo studied medicine at Imperial College, London alongside Sarah and Rob. She went on to complete her GP training in south-east England and, before moving to Australia in 2011, was a partner in a GP practice in Faversham, Kent. Prior to moving to the Peninsula in 2020, Jo worked in a practice in the outer east of Melbourne.

Jo enjoys all aspects of general practice, valuing the opportunity to care for patients from all walks of life and at all stages of life. She has particular interests in women’s health, menopause management, and lifestyle medicine, and is a member of the Australian Menopause Society.

Outside of work, Jo can often be found singing in a choir (or the car!) or keeping active while exploring the local area.

Dr Alex Terris

Alex did his medical training in the UK at St George’s Hospital in London. He moved to New Zealand 20 years ago, worked as a GP, got married and had 3 children there over 7 years prior to moving to Australia.

Alex is a dedicated general practitioner with a focus on providing comprehensive and compassionate care for patients of all ages.

With a focus on empowering patients to achieve their health goals Alex works with his patients to manage both acute and chronic conditions.

He has been living and working around the Peninsula for the last 10 years and recently spent 2 years working remotely in Sea Lake, North Victoria.
He has an interest in Sports Medicine and works 2 days a week in a Sports Medicine clinic in the city. He also has an interest in diabetes and has a strong belief that exercise is medicine. In his spare time he enjoys playing hockey and cycling in between running around all his kid’s sports!

Dr Michael Dobson

Dr Michael Dobson graduated from Deakin University School of Medicine in 2016 and completed his post-graduate years at University Hospital Geelong before moving to the Mornington Peninsula in 2019.

Michael’s areas of interest include musculoskeletal medicine, cardiovascular disease, skin cancer medicine and preventive health.

Michael takes a holistic approach to maximising both lifespan (how long we live) and healthspan (optimal physical, cognitive and emotional quality of life) with a strong focus on early action to achieve optimal health in his patients. This is done through the use of behaviours (exercise, sleep, mental/emotional health), nutrition and medications/supplements. Michael enjoys the relationships that he builds with his patients on their journey to better health.

Away from medicine, Michael enjoys running, cooking, woodworking and spending time with family.

Dr Ben McCann

Ben completed his medicine degree at Imperial college, London before moving to Bury St. Edmunds in the East of England to complete his GP training. He joined his training practice and has been working there as a GP Partner for the past 8 years.

He has made the move to Melbourne to experience a new challenge in his career as well as to enjoy the fantastic lifestyle the Peninsula has to offer.

Ben has experience across the breadth of General Practice, but particularly enjoys helping patients with chronic disease as well as ENT problems.

When not at work Ben enjoys spending time with family and friends. He is a self-confessed foodie as well as an enthusiastic (but untalented!) golfer and paddle boarder.

Dr Emily Aries graduated in 2017 from University of Birmingham in the UK. She completed her GP training in Shropshire (2022), before working as a GP in Oxford until November 2024. She recently relocated to the Mornington Peninsula in December 2024 with her partner.

Emily enjoys all aspects of General Practice, with particular interests including Women’s Health and Skin Health.

She is passionate about providing holistic care to patients, optimising well-being and quality of life.

Outside of work she enjoys keeping active, spending time in nature and learning to speak Italian.

Nicole Prest

Nurse Practitioner – Lead Nurse

Nicole is a Division 1 Registered Nurse and endorsed Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of experience across both general practice and hospital settings. After starting her career in general practice, she explored hospital nursing before returning to general practice, where she enjoys the personal connections and the opportunity to get to know patients and their families.

Her areas of interest include women’s and children’s health, immunisations, travel health, and patient education. She has completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Community and Primary Care, is a qualified Nurse Immuniser, and has gone on to complete her Master of Nurse Practitioner.

Nicole is passionate about supporting her patients’ wellbeing and delivering high-quality, holistic care. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband and two children, cheering on her son at football, and supporting her daughter in her new nursing career.

Caroline is a UK trained registered nurse and has been qualified since 1997 . Caroline has experience in the UK of working in A&E for a number of years and also went on to specialise in infusion clinics for patients with MS.

Caroline moved to Australia in 2012 and has specialised in practice nursing with 11 years experience working at a local GP surgery and has an interest in skin cancer .

Vanessa has been working in healthcare for over 10 years, starting her career in General Practice. She was then offered an opportunity to work at headspace Frankston with an interest in adolescent mental health. Vanessa worked in operations, management and clinical administration working closely with the allied health and intake team, GPs, Alfred Health practitioners and co-located community health services.

Vanessa is passionate about working within the community at Safety Beach. She is motivated to support the team in order to provide the best possible patient experience at the practice.

In her spare time Vanessa enjoys spending time with family and friends amongst the beauty of the Mornington Peninsula.

Sarah has worked in clinical administration for almost a decade and has a passion for helping people. She enjoys interacting with patients and solving the day-to-day challenges that arise as part of running a clinic.

When not at work, Sarah loves to be outdoors, see friends and family and spend as much time as possible with her beautiful 7 month old son.

Kasey started working in Medical Administration from the ripe age of 19, and has worked in roles ranging from Receptionist, to Second in Charge and finally becoming a Practice Manage before taking a short break to travel and become a Mum.

She is always happy to help patients with any queries they may have, whilst enjoying a laugh and trying to put a smile on faces.

Whilst not at work, you will find Kasey playing netball, spending time with her daughter Ruby, family and friends and playing fetch with her dog.
